The NAPABA 2014-2015 Elections are underway!

IAKL and KALAGNY are co-hosting the 2014 International Association of Korean Lawyers'
22nd Annual Conference at Fordham University Law School from October 2-5, 2014. 
The Conference will feature cutting-edge legal and educational programs, dinner events and
exciting daytime activities in and around New York City.  We expect to have in attendance
attorneys, judges, general counsels, law professors and many other legal and business professionals
from the greater NY area and from around the world.


We are excited to announce that our scheduled speakers throughout the conference will include

Kyung-Wha Kang, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator; Ambassador Se-joo Son, Consul General, Korean Consulate General in New York; Ron Kim, New York State Assemblyman; and Michael M. Winners will receive a voucher that will allow the participant to register for the Claritas® Investment Certificate program at no cost.

Claritas® Investment Certificate Program at a Glance:

  • The Claritas® Investment Certificate program a self-study education program and exam designed to give anyone a clear understanding of the investment industry.
  • Requires 80-100 hours of study and generally can be completed within six months while working. 
  • Syllabus provides real-world scenarios and case studies via an interactive, mobile-friendly downloadable e-book.
  • The final two-hour exam is available at Pearson VUE test centers worldwide.
  • Upon completion, successful candidates earn a Claritas Investment Certificate.

On August 5, 2014, KALAGNY co-sponsored "In the Face of Tyranny: I Will Not be Silent",
a program at the Kupferberg Holocaust Center to raise awareness about the issue of comfort women survivors. Korean comfort women survivors from the House of Sharing traveled from Korea to Queens to share their stories. To view photos, click here.

Asian and Pacific American partners at major law firms through introduction, mentorship, and relationship building.

**Volunteers needed for Our Service Project at the NAPABA 2014 Convention

NAPABA is seeking volunteers during the Convention on Sunday, November 9, 2014
from 9am-11am for Our Service Project.  Our Service Project for the 2014 NAPABA Convention
will be assembling care packages for service men and women who are stationed in foreign countries

where it is not safe for them to leave their military bases to purchase everyday items,

including food and personal hygiene items.
If you are interested in serving as a volunteer,
