General Membership Meeting

         
       
Elections are for four (4) Governor positions on the KALAGNY Board. All positions are for two-year terms. Terms commence July 1, 2014. To view KALAGNY's By-Laws,

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS TO SERVE AS A BOARD MEMBER

         
Only those members in good standing who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction are qualified to run for an elected position. A member in "good standing" is defined as those members (a) whose membership has not been suspended or revoked as of the Election Date, and (b) who have paid in full their membership dues as of the Record Date.
         
 

NOMINATED CANDIDATES

 

The KALAGNY Nominations and Elections Committee has selected the following candidates for the four (4) Governor positions:
 

- Bridgette Ahn, Current Governor seeking reelection;
- Sung Kim;
- Chul Pak, Current Governor seeking reelection; and
- Maria Park, Current Governor seeking reelection
.

 

REQUIREMENTS TO VOTE IN THE ELECTION

         
The only members with voting rights at the election shall be those members who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction by the Distribution Date and are in “good standing” (i.e., those members  (a) whose membership has not been suspended or revoked as of the Election Date, and (b) who have paid in full their membership dues as of the Record Date. Each member that satisfies these criteria shall be entitled to one vote, which must be made in person. No member shall be permitted to vote by proxy.
       

 

RELEVANT DATES

         
Record Date - February 28, 2014. You must be a paid member by the Record Date to be eligible to vote in the election.

 

Distribution Date - March 7, 2014. Information regarding the slate of Governors proposed by the Nominations Committee will be circulated by the Distribution Date. The slate will be posted on the KALAGNY website.

         
Submission Date - March 21, 2014. Deadline for submission of information by alternative candidates. Alternative candidates will be posted on the KALAGNY website by the Ballot Date.

 

Ballot Date - April 4, 2014.  Ballot form will be made available on the KALAGNY website. Members wishing to vote will have to hand in their ballots in person by no later than 8pm on the Election Date.

         
Election Date & General Membership Meeting - April 17, 2014.  KALAGNY Elections and annual membership meeting will take place from 7-9 p.m. at the law offices of Lee Anav Chung White & Kim LLP, located at 156 5th Avenue, Suite 303, New York, NY 10010.  Please do not contact the host firm for information.
 
All are welcome but only eligible members may vote. Ballots are available here and must be submitted between 7pm - 8pm. Elections will end at 8pm and results announced before 9pm.
