Homicide Defense Task Force

The Homicide Defense Task Force (HDTF) is a highly specialized unit within the Legal Aid Society established to meet the needs of clients charged with homicide. The HDTF is able to respond quickly to homicide arrests by immediately dispatching an experienced team of attorneys, investigators, mitigation specialists and paralegal case handlers on every case. Through an integrated system of representation, including our nationally recognized DNA and Forensics Units, our immigration and community justice units, and our media relations team, the clients we represent receive unparalleled attention to their cases.

All attorneys selected for the task force have been homicide certified by a committee consisting of the Director of the HDTF, Attorney-In-Charges of the five boroughs, and senior attorney staff members.
