Annual Pro-Bono Dinner

On February 6, 2024, KALAGNY hosted its annual pro bono dinner celebrating all the efforts of over 50 lawyers that participated in KALAGNY’s pro bono clinic. Special thanks to Mr. Chang Moon Sohn, the first president of KALAGNY, who continues to serve the Korean community at the pro bono clinic. His unwavering commitment and dedication are truly commendable. Also, KALAGNY would like to thank the many lawyers who participated in last year’s pro bono clinic. We strongly encourage all lawyers to consider participating in KALAGNY’s pro bono clinic.

Judge Kim M. Parker Ceremony (01/25/2024)

On January 25, 2024, KALAGNY celebrated the appointment of Judge Kim M. Parker to the New York State Court of Claims. A native of Harlem, she is of African-American and Korean descent, which has given her a unique perspective on the needs of her community and the role of attorneys in meeting those needs. Judge Parker's appointment is a significant achievement for the Korean-American community and a source of inspiration for young, aspiring lawyers from diverse backgrounds. KALAGNY extends its heartfelt congratulations to Judge Kim M. Parker on her well-deserved appointment and looks forward to her continued contributions to the judiciary and the community at large.


2023-2024 Mentorship Program Kick-Off Reception (11/20/2023)

On November 30, 2023, KALAGNY kicked off its annual mentorship program at Proskauer Rose. It was a great kick-off with mentees and mentors connecting.

AAPI Leaders Summit w/ Senator Gillibrand (11/2/2023)


Senator Gillibrand hosted an AAPI Leaders Summit. KALAGNY Pres and EVP joined other AAPI leaders at Capitol Hill for a day of panel discussions on topics such as (i) Advancing Opportunity in AAPI Communities; (ii) Confronting Anti-Asian Hate & Discrimination; and (ii) Grants & Government Contracting Opportunities.
