Bridgette Ahn Sworn in as First Korean American President of the Network of Bar Leaders

Bridgette Ahn, KALAGNY’s past President and current Presiding Chair of the Leadership Advisory Committee was sworn in last week as President of The Network of Bar Leaders (NoBL) at NoBL’s 2018-2019 Award and Installation Reception.  Bridgette’s election as President of NoBL marks the first time a Korean American has held this office.  KALAGNY Board Member Eve Guillergan was also sworn in as NoBL’s Legislative Liaison for 2018-2019.

The event, which took place at the Museum of Korean American Heritage in Manhattan, brought together nearly 100 attorneys, judges and representatives from numerous bar associations.  Both KALAGNY’s current President Karen Kim and KALAGNY Member and AABANY President-Elect Brian Song welcomed the attendees with their opening remarks, followed by the swearing in of the new officers by the Hon. George B. Daniels, US District Court Judge of the Southern District of New York.  As the newly elected President, Bridgette delivered the President’s Address as her first act of office.

The keynote speaker of the evening, the Hon. Barbara D. Underwood, Attorney General of the State of New York, was presented with the inaugural Equal Justice for All Award in recognition of her ingenuity and persistence as a champion of civil rights.  We wish Bridgette and Eve all the best in their new roles and congratulate Attorney General Underwood for her well-deserved award.
