2021 GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT

Dear Members of KALAGNY, 


We would like to cordially invite you to join us on April 22, 2021, at our virtually held Annual Meeting and to vote in the 2021 General Election.  


ANNUAL MEETING
KALAGNY’s Annual Meeting will be held virtually through Zoom on April 22, 2o21. Zoom information will be sent out closer to the meeting date.


Instructions:  Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we will be holding a remote election this year in lieu of an in-person election and general membership meeting. 


Ballots will be available on April 15, 2021 and all votes must be cast through the electronic ballot by no later than 11:59 PM on April 222021. You may not cast your vote by proxy. 


** The only members with voting rights for the 2021 Elections shall be those KALAGNY members who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction as of the Distribution Date (April 11, 2021) and are current dues-paid KALAGNY members as of the Record Date (February 12, 2021). If you are unsure of your current membership status or eligibility to vote, please email kalagny@gmail.com. **

The KALAGNY Nominations Committee has nominated the following candidates for the open positions:

RELEVANT DATES

Record Date (February 12, 2021) -  You must be a current dues-paid KALAGNY member by the Record Date to be eligible to seek election and to vote in the election. 

Submission Date (February  19 – March 05, 2021)  Statements of Interest along with a resume must be submitted to  kalagny2021@gmail.com no later than March 05, 2021, 11:59 pm. Please add the word "Election" to the subject line of your e-mail. 


Date to Submit Alternative Candidate Submissions (March 25, 2021) - The names of any additional nominees to be added to the Ballot form must be submitted to kalagny2021@gmail.com by March 25, 2021, 11:59pm.  


Distribution Date (April 11, 2021) - Slate of candidates will be emailed out to all members.


Ballot Date (April 15, 2021) -  Ballot form will be made available on the KALAGNY website. Members wishing to vote will have to sign into kalagny.org, and vote through the website by no later than 11:59 pm on the Election Date (4/22/2021). Proxy voting is not permitted.


Election Date (April 22, 2021) - The KALAGNY Election has been scheduled for the evening of April 22, 2021.

To apply, please include a (1) current resume, and a statement of interest responding to 

1. Please describe your connection, history, and commitment to KALAGNY.

2. Please describe your interest in the position you are seeking and how you believe you are qualified.


Please send all applications to kalagny2021@gmail.com with the subject line "Election". Applications will be accepted until March 05, 2021.


The Nominations Committee will consider all applications and will provide a recommended slate of candidates.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Elections are for the following Officer positions: President, five (5) Officer positions; and seven (7) Governor positions on the KALAGNY Board.  All positions are for two-year terms.  Terms commence July 1, 2021.  To view KALAGNY's current bylaws, click here.


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

President : Only KALAGNY members in good standing who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction, and who have been members in good standing for at least two (2) years, cumulatively, within the three (3) years immediately prior to the Record Date, may run for President.


Officer : Only KALGNY members in good standing who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction, and who have been members in good standing, may run for an Officer position.


Governor:  Only KALAGNY members in good standing who have been admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction, and who have been members in good standing for at least two (2) years, cumulatively, within the three (3) years immediately prior to the nomination, may run for a Governor position.


A member in "good standing" is defined as those members (a) whose membership has not been suspended or revoked as of the Election Date, and (b) who have paid in full their membership dues as of the Record Date.  (See below for relevant dates.)


NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES

The KALAGNY Nominations Committee will begin accepting applications for the positions listed above beginning  February 19, 2021.  If you are interested in seeking one of these positions, please submit your Statement of Interest along with your resume to kalagny2021@gmail.com no later than March 05, 2021, 11:59 pm. Please add the word "Election" to the subject line of your e-mail. Late submissions will not be considered.
