KALAGNY's 2020-2021 Mentorship Program

The Korean American Lawyers Association of Greater New York ("KALAGNY") is pleased to announce its 2020-2021 KALAGNY Mentorship Program. This will be the twelfth annual edition of this program, and it has become a model for several similar programs around the United States.

Our Network

The Mentorship Program has steadily grown each year since its inception, from about 55 participants in 2009-2010 to over 200 participants today.  Our mentors include judges, prosecutors, in-house attorneys, public interest attorneys, lawyers from large, medium and small firms and solo practitioners.  Our mentees have included law students from every law school in the greater New York area and young attorneys in a variety of practices.

Our Philosophy and Approach

Our program is designed to provide law students and new attorneys access to a broad network of attorneys who have volunteered their time to share their wisdom and insight into the day to day practice of law and broader career issues and goals.

Registration for the 2020-2021 program is now open!

If you are new to our program, please email mentorship.kalagny@gmail.com stating whether you’d like to be a mentor or mentee by no later than November 25. Mentorship groups will remain the same as our 2019-2020 cycle.

Sincerely,
John Kim and Julie Cho

2020-2021 Mentorship Program Kick-Off Reception

Unfortunately, the dangers of the COVID-19 virus remain prevalent and we must remain cautious and vigilant. Thus, sadly, we cannot hold a kick-off reception this year or come together in person for mentorship meals.  However, we want to continue our program and provide some meaningful interactions during this time.

Resume Review & Interview Workshop

This year's Resume Review & Interview Workshop will be held virtually in early December. The date and time will be announced soon.
