Learn Stress Relief Techniques with the KALAGNY Women’s Committee – September 28, 2017

Wine and Shine! Join your fellow KALAGNY Women’s Committee members for an inspiring evening with Gayle Damiano of  She will guide you through simple techniques to learn how to deal with stress in a chaotic world. There will be drawings for high-quality essential oils and for a free intensive healing session with Gayle ($200 value!). Wine and delicious small bites will also be served.  Hosted by Menaker & Herrmann LLP, 10 E 40th Street, 25th Floor (between 5th Avenue and Madison), Thursday, September 28, 6:30pm – 9:00pm.

KALAGNY’s Writing Workshop - October 3, 2017

On October 3, join KALAGNY and a distinguished panel at Fordham Law School for a workshop and discussion aimed at developing critical writing skills for practicing litigators.  After a short reception (starting at 6:30 p.m.), participants will take a guided tour of the packet materials before concluding with a panel discussion featuring three important perspectives.  Topics will include common pitfalls and helpful tips for composing your briefs, memos, letters, e-mails, and much more!

  • Judge Denny Chin, United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit
  • Professor Thomas Lee, Leitner Family Professor of International Law, Fordham University School of Law

DACA Renewal Assistance at the MinKwon Center

The MinKwon Center for Community Action ( is holding DACA renewal clinics BY APPOINTMENT ONLY to assist individuals in meeting the October 5 renewal deadline.   Any DACA recipient with a work permit expiring between September 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018 should apply for a two-year renewal as soon as possible in case of unforeseen complications.

The MinKwon Center provides fully bilingual social and legal services and has processed over 1,200 DACA applications since 2012.

Insurance Defense Firm Seeks Attorneys with 0-3 Years Experience (Mineola, NY)

An insurance defense firm seeks full-time associate attorneys interested in litigation to join our no-fault practice group. In a short period of time, you will learn and develop motion, trial and deposition skills.  Candidates should be detail-oriented, have good time management skills and possess the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.  Associates joining the firm will need a car, as the firm covers venues in Long Island, Westchester and all NYC boroughs.


Candidates who sat for the July 2017 New York State Bar Exam are encouraged to apply.  Full-time salary range is $60,000 - $75,000 per year (commensurate with relevant experience) plus a generous benefits package including health and life insurance and paid time off.  Candidates must submit a resume and short writing sample to:  Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
