KALAGNY's Annual New Jersey Picnic

Join KALAGNY on October 1 for its annual Partners/In House Golf Outing at Manhattan Woods Golf Club in West Nyack (map), listed in Golf Digest's Top 100 Greatest Courses as one of New York's best.  A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated by KALAGNY to the Han C. Choi Scholarship Fund to support law students and lawyers affected by cancer.

Take part in one of our fondest traditions by marching beside the KALAGNY banner at the Korean Parade on Saturday, October 6, starting at 11 a.m. in Manhattan's K-town!  Come for the Parade, join the celebration of Koreans and Korean culture past and present and then join us for lunch!

Second Annual Writing Workshop

On Thursday, October 25, join KALAGNY and a distinguished panel at Fordham Law School (map) for a workshop and discussion aimed at developing critical writing skills for practicing litigators.  After a short reception (starting at 6:30 p.m.), participants will take a guided tour of the packet materials before concluding with a panel discussion featuring three important perspectives.  Topics will include common pitfalls and helpful tips for composing your briefs, memos, letters, e-mails, and much more!

Network of Bar Leaders to Induct Bridgette Ahn as President and Eve Guillergan as Legislative Liaison

KALAGNY Leadership Advisory Committee Presiding Chair and immediate past President Bridgette Ahn will be inducted next month as the President of the Network of Bar Leaders (NoBL), a coalition of 50 diverse member bar associations dedicated to bringing together the leadership of the diverse bar associations of the greater New York metropolitan area. 

KALAGNY Governor Eve Guillergan will also be serving NoBL during the 2018-2019 term, as its Legislative Liaison.  Kudos to Bridgette and Eve, and to NoBL for selecting two leaders whose experience and dedication are truly extraordinary.  We look forward to your advancement of NoBL's mission!

As a regional affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), KALAGNY strongly encourages our members to vote in the current NAPABA elections. If you previously registered as a NAPABA member – either by using the KALAGNY affiliate code provided in the Members Only page of our website, or by becoming a direct member of NAPABA – you are eligible to vote in this year’s election (relevant dates listed below).

The Korean American Association of Queens New York (KAAQ) will host their 38th Annual Benefit Gala on Thursday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Terrace on the Park, 52-11 111th Street, Queens (map). 

The Gala will honor prominent members of the Korean American community, including KALAGNY Leadership Advisory Committee member Gary S. 2018 IAKL Conference in Atlanta

The 26th Annual International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL) Conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on September 13-16, 2018, hosted by the Korean American Bar Association of Georgia.  The Conference features a wide range of CLEs and a general counsel panel discussion as well as social events including the gala and annual golf outing.

NYS Office of the Attorney General Fall Recruitment Event
